Inclusive Employment Australia

Inclusive Employment Australia is an exciting new program that empowers people with disabilities, injuries, or health conditions to confidently prepare for work, secure meaningful jobs, and build successful careers.

It replaces the Disability Employment Services (DES) program, introducing a fresh approach to employment support.

This program aims to create a brighter, more inclusive future by putting participants first, making services easier to access, and helping employers and providers foster supportive and welcoming workplaces.

• More people with disability will have the chance to work.

• You will get support to find a job and keep it.

• Providers will have more skills to help people with different disabilities and backgrounds.

• You can stay with your provider for as long as you need help—there are no time limits.

• Providers will focus on what you need and support your goals.

• You can join the program even if you only work a few hours a week.

• If you are part of the DES program with Southern Community Options, there's no need to do anything right now—continue working with us or your current provider as usual.

• In October 2025, you'll receive a letter from the Department of Social Services listing the Inclusive Employment Australia providers available in your area.

• You will then have the choice to remain with your current provider or switch to a new one.

• If you prefer, you can select Southern Community Options as your provider for support.

• We will keep you informed about the new program and assist you throughout the transition.
